States Take Proactive Steps to Strengthen Auto Sector

The automotive clusters of Guanajuato, State of Mexico and Puebla are being proactive in supporting the industry’s needs; Guanajuato will held an automotive congress, State of Mexico focused on carbon neutrality and Puebla aims to speed up automation manufacturing.

Juan José Zaragoza, President Latin America at DuPont, explained the role of material technology in advancing the future of mobility. "Accelerating Hybrid, Electric and Autonomous Driving (AHEAD) continues to be an important strategy for us. About 40-45 percent of our sales in the mobility and materials segment come from advanced mobility products, namely electric and autonomous vehicles."

Guanajuato’s automotive cluster is ready to strengthen the industry through CLAUGTO Automotive Congress (CAC) and its Automotive Supplier Forum (FPA), which will be held in August and September, respectively. Guanajuato is the crown jewel of the Mexican automotive industry and home to GM, Volkswagen, Mazda, Honda and Toyota plants, plus many Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturing sites.

The automotive cluster of the State of Mexico continues to foster initiatives toward industry decarbonization, and the application of the new labor standards set by the USMCA and the most recent Mexican labor reform.
