GKN Aerospace starts construction to expand operations in Chihuahua

GKN Aerospace laid the first stone for the expansion of its plant located in the state of Chihuahua, in which it will invest 10.5 million dollars and create 350 high-value jobs.

With this expansion, previously announced in its participation in Farnborough International Airshow 2023 , the company will be able to incorporate three projects with high-tech equipment and processes.

Rien Heule, Vice President of Projects at GKN , specified that these are assembly processes in the aerospace sector.

In addition to the investment made in the South Industrial Park , the company will allocate $700,000 to the training and specialization of its workers, with stays in countries with the greatest experience in the production of technology, such as the United States, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

At the event, Governor María Eugenia Campos Galván highlighted the competitive advantages of the state of Chihuahua as well as the economic development strategy implemented to attract investment.

"We have implemented a comprehensive model for attracting and triggering investments, which includes incentives, security, energy management, outreach, and training for educational spaces, that is, a model that meets the conditions to establish our economy in a comprehensive manner," he highlighted.
