Kaman Aerostructures: Now in MEXICO!

  1. Aircraft bearing and components manufacturer Kaman Aerospace Corporation announced a $10 million investment in Chihuahua City, where it will employ 500 workers in a new plant to be completed this fall.

 

  1. Kaman will manufacture structural components and do metal component detailing.
  1. Robert Kanaskie, the company's president, said Kaman felt drawn by Chihuahua City's infrastructure, workforce skills and the city and state governments' support.


  1. The company valued as well Chihuahua's manufacturing base, its industrial sector experience and support from American Industries, a Chihuahuan company providing industrial real estate solutions.

 

  1. The city government is offering a 100 percent property tax discount and up to 55 percent discounts on construction permits for aerospace companies wanting to set operations here.

 

  1. For Kaman's investment, Chihuahua City competed with other leading Mexican cities as Monterrey, Mexicali and Queretaro.

 

  1. The factory, whose headquarters are in Jacksonville, United States, will be located on the Jose Fuentes Mares Boulevard, specifically in the Aerostructures division.

 

  1. The area in which will operate Kaman Aerospace is of 6,000 square meters and will manufacture structures, parts details and metal components to provide the aerospace industry.

 

  1. The Chihuahua state government announced that several companies in aerospace, petrochemical, electronics, agribusiness and food, automotive, auto parts and construction, have confirmed their arrival to the state, but for now reserves the names of each of these companies.
