Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua, the State's flagship university, launched on February 26 its Tecno Parque UACH, a software and aerospace technology development center aimed at linking students to companies and incubating student-created startups.

The $2.7-million Tecno Parque UACH, located at UACH University Campus II in Chihuahua City, initially will house software development companies, with other technology and career projects joining the center in the future.

The clustering center is meant to be an "ecosystem" where student-created and out-of-campus companies will be able to grow and insert into mainstream technology markets.

Additionally, students could easily transfer to technology jobs in Chihuahua.

Chihuahua State is currently developing an aerospace cluster and is seeking to foster local companies as suppliers and R&D entities.

UACH and UACJ [Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez] have aerospace programs.

Some of the companies already interested in joining Tecno Parque include Eranet, NXTech, ITWeb and SIHOSYS.
