  1. Reynosa labor pool Reynosa is a dynamic city located on the Northeast border of Mexico, across from McAllen, Texas, on the renowned NAFTA Highway. Its third international crossing, Anzalduas Bridge will generate more growth in 2011 by connecting to a multi-modal service center in McAllen, allowing distribution to the Central and Eastern U.S.
    According to the INEGI Census 2010, there was a population of 589,466 in the city and 608,891 in Reynosa Municipality. Both are the largest in their categories in the state of Tamaulipas.

    Reynosa is typically one of the final locations included in site selection projects along the U.S./Mexico border.  It has a well developed industrial base, growing labor pool and transportation advantages for companies sending their finished good to the East Coast of the U.S.  The key drawback of Reynosa compared to Monterrey or Cd. Juarez is the availability of skilled technicians and engineers.  However, recruiting highly skilled employees either from Mexico or the U.S. is much easier with the option of living in McAllen, Texas.

    Employment
    The city of Reynosa leads the state of Tamaulipas in terms of job creation beacause a third part of Tamaulipas economic activity transpires here. In the year 2006 alone, 21,969 new jobs were created, a 6.56% increase with respect to the previous year. The economically active population is 72% of the total population

    Labor Facts
    The skill level of workers in Reynosa is quite good and comparable to other locations throughout Mexico. The majority of maquiladoras that have located in the Reynosa area still perform basic assembly, though the growing number of electronic manufacturers provide for a growing skill level of technicians.

City officials attribute this increase to the influx of people coming to work in the maquiladoras and the new companies in Reynosa, as well as the rapid in-migration. Many border officials believe the current population is more than 1 million in Reynosa.
    The 60 % of aggregated value in manufacturing comes from Reynosa in state. The economic active population in Reynosa represents the 72% of the total population.
